"Hiking through the ancient trans-Himalayan salt trade route – into charming & colorful villages, - serene forest of rhododendrons-oaks-pines & constant views of silver gray peaks glistening in the sunshine of the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri mountain range where from the sub-tropical – alpine we trek into an almost arctic zone". As you hike the trails, interact with the friendly local folks on the way, peep into the culture, share some home grown snacks with them, hear of things unknown or never seen in a lifetime of travel.
It’s an old time tradition with ‘Annapurna Travel and Tours’ to ensure that its guests interact & mix freely with the local inhabitants of the regions we trek through as much as possible, as this trait gives maximum fulfillment & satisfaction to adventurous trekkers for a venture thoroughly enjoyed.
Know before you explore:
One of the most truly inspiring journeys on foot as we hike on the world’s deepest gorge in the midst of towering Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range, this trek follows the ancient caravan route through a more diverse range of climate, vegetation and cultures than larger countries can boast off in an entire continent. From the lush vegetation of rain and temperate forests to the windswept Tibetan landscapes. The land and its people change with amazing diversity as the journey progresses from day to day, giving trekkers an alluring introduction to Nepal's immense mixing bowl of vast cultural differences and its natural beauty.
The trail cuts across fluctuating elevations, passing through many traditional & interesting villages along the way. This wonderful adventure begins from Pokhara and the first portion passes through lush green hill country typical of the heartlands of Nepal.
Tiny thatched roofed villages; set among green terraced fields, makes an attractive picture in the backdrops of the magnificent snow ranges of Annapurna, Manaslu and Dhaulagiri including the most majestic peak of the whole Himalayan range; the ‘Machhapuchre’ (a uniquely shaped mountain like that of a Fish Tail) The pleasant walk eventually leads to lower Mustang at Jomsom and at the highest spot of Muktinath, one of the holiest pilgrimage sites for Hindus and Buddhists that attracts pilgrims from across the universe. The trek retraces itself back to Jomsom for a scenic sweeping flight towards the ‘city of lakes’ Pokhara, and then heads back to Kathmandu.
